Mexican police: 3 drug dealers arrested after shooting at US border

The suspects allegedly attempted to cross into the United States illegally, according to police in the state of Puebla, a border state that borders Guatemala and has been hit hard by a wave of drug-related violence.
The officers were trying to enforce an immigration detainer for the men, when the gunfire erupted, according the state’s state attorney general.
“The shots were fired by one of the suspects,” said police spokesman Juan Carlos Romero.
The men are accused of trying to enter the United Sates illegally, the state attorney General’s office said in a statement.”
One of the detained suspects, identified as Jose Paez, 23, was killed in the gunfire.”
