Toys: “The Walking Dead” is getting a new series on Syfy
A new “The Following” spinoff series is in the works with the addition of the Walking Dead universe, which has spawned many spinoff movies and TV series, Variety has learned.
The show will explore a new world of zombie-infected survivors who were once members of a military unit, but now must navigate their own life and their own survival.
Syfy, which produces the show, is currently filming a pilot, which is set in a world in which the survivors have been eradicated by the virus, and which will air on Syfery’s online streaming service, Variety first reported.
The new show, which will be titled “The Beginning,” will star Jason Isaacs as a new recruit into the military, and is expected to debut this fall on SyFy’s online service.
Isaacs previously had roles on ABC’s The Good Wife and Showtime’s The Affair.
The Walking Dead: Season 4 premieres Sept. 23 on AMC.
