UK: Police search for two men after search for missing women
Police in the UK are searching for two people after a search in the city of Leicester for missing woman Emma Watson.
Police have launched a “massive” search operation after a woman’s body was found in a car parked on a public road on Tuesday morning.
“A woman was found unresponsive and in a vehicle in Leicester yesterday afternoon,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
“A vehicle has been located at the scene.”
Police said it was “too early” to determine the cause of death but it was not known if the woman was the victim of foul play.
They said they would continue to search for a vehicle.
A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Police said it had been assisting the police with inquiries and would be carrying out a review of the incident.
‘It’s so upsetting’ Emma Watson’s family said they were “so upset” the search for their daughter had been called off.
“It’s just so upsetting to have this news come out today,” Emma Watson family spokesperson David Ward said.
“She was just such a wonderful person and it’s just really upsetting.”
The Greater Manchester Metropolitan Police has been working with the Met Police, West Midlands Police and the National Crime Agency in the investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
