Which international company is currently the most profitable?
The World Bank has named Dairy UK as the most lucrative company in the world in terms of revenues and profits in 2016.
It said the UK’s dairy exports rose by 4.7% in the year to December.
The UK’s trade surplus was £7.5bn, the largest since the 1990s.
But it’s a far cry from its previous best ranking, when it had the third highest gross margin, and third highest share of total revenues.
This year, the UK exported only £2.9bn, which was down from £4.5 billion in 2015.
It is also worth noting that Dairy UK’s profits are a relatively modest 8.4% in 2016, compared with the 11.9% it earned in 2015, and its share of overall revenues is only 2.4%.
