Why you should love the new ‘Vibe’ app for your iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
In a year of major hardware changes, Apple is finally making good on its promise of bringing its premium devices to more people.
The company announced today that it’s bringing the “Vibe” app to the iPhone 7, 7 Plus, and iPhone 8, but it’s not available on those devices just yet.
AppleInsider reports that the app has a few new features that are supposed to make the phone’s “Vibrate” functionality better for users.
For starters, you can now adjust the volume of vibrate on the phone and “Tap” to make a sound.
And it seems that Apple is also making the “Sprint” and “Safari” versions of the app compatible with iOS 8.1, and the company has updated the iOS 8 version of the Vibrate app with support for iOS 8’s new “Vibration API.”
The app’s description reads:The app has been a big hit with users, with many people saying they’ve “voted with their dollars” for the iPhone app to have the vibrate functionality built in.
However, it appears that Apple’s iOS 8 update will not include the feature.
AppleInsider notes that users can still “check in” with the app’s support page, and AppleInsiders source says that the company is still planning to release an update to iOS 8 “soon.”
